Stephanie Hickey

I got into the industry sort of by accident, and definitely let fate take it from there. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign with a BFA in acting in 2013, then moved back home to Chicago to start figuring out life. I ended up in a job working at the Zhou B Art Center where I met the queen-of-Chicago rentals, Sandy S., who then introduced me to Pam, the operating manager at Jordan's Food of Distinction, where I spent years training with their amazing production team. During my time at Zhou B I met Dana and Chris, owners of Row 24 where I eventually took a position as their Venue Manager as their business was developing.

Now here I am- over a decade later, and this accidental career path has turned into this amazing business I call Shh Events. My company comes from all of the experiences I have gained- all of the trade secrets- that set my experience as a wedding planner to an elevated level of expertise. After all, theatre and event production are cut from the same cloth- the props, the sets, costumes, actors, script--the LIVE-ness of it all. Shh Events is a curator for love stories, and it's an honor to be a part of the stories we tell.
